How do I cite images from a PowerPoint using ACS citation style?
Answer
When citing an image in a PowerPoint presentation, you want to go by the format for the original source of the image (i.e. book, article, website, etc.). The ACS Quick Style Guide can help you with formatting each type of source properly.
For the in-text citation directly below the image, try to address the following elements in your citation:
- Title
- Creator name
- Repository information (museum, library, or other owning institution)
- Image source (database, website, book, postcard, vendor, etc.)
- Date accessed
Note that citing an image in a form meant to be published, such as an article, is subject to different rules and permissions.
